Servings 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, cut into pieces
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 6 cups chopped or shredded cabbage
  • ¼ cup chicken broth

Instructions

  • Shred or chop cabbage.
  • Set quick cooker to SEAR and add the bacon. Stir frequently until crisp, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove bacon and drain, set aside.
  • Add onions to Bacon fat, add salt and black pepper; cook about 4 minutes.
  • Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook1 minute.
  • Add and the cabbage, stir, then add the broth. This is where I add at the bacon by mistake, but it was a very happy accident! so, if you like, you can add half the bacon now as well.
  • Replace the lid to the quick cooker. Set to CUSTOM, 2 minutes. When the cabbage is done, push down the quick release button to release the pressure.
  • Add bacon pieces back into the cabbage if you have not already done so, and stir well.
